While the word "pollinator" often brings to mind an image of a buzzing bee, and while bees are often considered the mascot of pollination, bees are certainly not the only type of animal pollinator.

Major pollinator species include bees, flies, butterflies, and beetles, while other, more minor pollinator species include birds, bats, moths, wasps, and ants (Revell, 2015).

The incredibly wide diversity of pollinating species leads to their tremendous ecological impact in ecosystems across the globe!
